Top reporting regions were NCR with 3,848 (62%) cases, followed by CALABARZON (1,016 or 16%) and Region 3 (311 or 5%). Also noted are the 278 cases reported among Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF). These were from the submission of 98 of the 103 confirming laboratories, which is relatively higher compared to previous days which explains the high number of reported cases.

Of these newly reported cases, 4,973 (80%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 1-14, 2020). The top regions with cases in these recent two weeks were NCR (3,044 or 61%), CALABARZON (896 or 18%), and Region 3 (290 or 6%).

For NCR, 45% of new cases were from three cities. Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite remain the top three provinces in CALABARZON where new cases are reported.

A total of 1,038 new recoveries are reported bringing the total recoveries to 71,405 or 46% of cumulative cases. There were 16 additional deaths. Of the 16, eight (50%) occurred in August, four (25%) in July, three (19%) in April, and one (6%) in May. We are reporting 6,958 new cases for August 10, 2020. Top reporting regions were NCR 4,163 (60%) cases, followed by CALABARZON (1,323 or 19%) and Region 3 (302 or 4%). Also noted are the 254 cases reported among Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF). These were from the submission of 74 of the 99 confirming laboratories.

Of these newly reported cases, 5,789 (83%) occurred within the recent 14 days (July 28-August 10, 2020). The top regions with cases in these recent two weeks were NCR (3,447 or 60%), CALABARZON (1,097 or 19%), and Region 6 (205 or 4%). Top provinces and cities where new cases were reported were NCR, and three provinces in CALABARZON, namely Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite, and Bulacan in Region 3.

Our case clustering report showed that there are 380 clusters in NCR; 305 (80%) are in the communities and 34 (9%) in health facilities. CALABARZON has 174 case clusters and Region 7 with 171 case clusters – majority were also in communities.
